Recently Peter Jackson launched the Instagram tag; #tailoredbyPJ to find Australia’s best-dressed gents, sporting the PJ style. After weeks of searching and scouring the deepest depths of Instagram, our panel of dedicated (and slightly sleep deprived) judges, selected a single entrant to win our first made to measure suit.
The winner, soon-to-be-dad Adam Moore, was selected for his contemporary take on classic styling and penchant for understated panache. His keen interest in men’s fashion and the manly arts was used as a base to construct an entire day of activities; that celebrated the uniquely tailored experience behind our made to measure program.
Moore Made to Measure
Starting in the majestically modern interior of Westfield's Styling Suite, Adam Moore began his journey into the world of made to measure with a meet and greet with lead designer, David Jackson.
In this minimalist man cave, Moore was able to experience a unique interpretation of our program, selecting a style, cut, fabric and fit of two completely custom suits, as he, and partner in crime, Natalie, noshed on sandwiches and refreshments.
A Close Shave
After being served up sandwiches and refreshments for Lunch, Adam, and partner in crime, Natalie, were sent off to the first of Adams tailored activities, a classic freshwater shave.
Setting up shop in the heart of one of the cities oldest society buildings - the Kelvin Club - Men + Co Barbers have stood as a paragon of the ancient art, providing the men of Melbourne with the profoundly masculine experience of fresh water shaves and no-fuss cuts.
The barbershop - designed to be a contemporary take on a classic facade - flies under the command of Sammy Bouayad, who plied his 25 years of experience to deliver Moore a cutthroat shave that he wouldn't soon forget.
Moorish Street Style
Fresh faced and cleanly cut, Moore's next stop was over to our little store on Little Bourke for an impromptu styling session with the long-standing PJ stylist, David Ferris.
Collaborating with Adam and his Shutterbug second half Natalie, Ferris selected several outfits to showcase Moore's street style shoot.
The final stop (at least for our camera crew) was at Tasmanian-based distiller and Melbourne-based whiskey bar, Nant.
Down a flight of stairs and through a hidden door, Adam was greeted with a selection of pre-dinner aperitifs, pairing a decadent charcuterie with a flight of the distiller's signature whiskey's.
Here we bid the couple adieu, wrapping up Adam's made to measure experience with a 5-course detestation at Melbourne's home of modern British cuisine, Papa Goose.
