Ringing in the new financial year, Brisbanites (and those lucky enough to be in the area) will see their city undergo a transformation into a fantastical foodie paradise to celebrate Good Food Month. For the whole of this month, the state's best restaurants and eateries will come together to hock their heartiest ham, fry their finest fish and many other illiterate iterations of Queensland's culinary delights.
Below we've compiled a list of the State's most jaw dropping and mouth watering events for the festival. Full disclosure foodies - you may need a drool trough.
'Beached' on the shores of the Noosa River, the Boat House will undergo a once-off makeover, inviting Hawker Hall to reimagine the riverside retreat into a bustling Asian street market - Think Blade Runner meets the sunny shores of San Diego's Black's Beach.
Experience, Executive Chef, Shane Bailey's culinary vision transform the Noosa Boat House menu from modern Australian cuisine to a series of Asian-inspired street food snacks. Float the $49 entry and receive six food stamps and access to an eclectic mix of craft beers, wine, and cocktails. The Bar's open till late and will be laying down live tunes till close, so be sure to snag your ticket today.
Worth the Truffle
While the storming of the Bastille is not something that often draws much attention in Australia, the Ecco Bistro has decided that this Good Food Month will pay tribute to the French national holiday with a treasure trove of truffle based delights.
Setting up for a truly decadent evening, Philip Johnson and Head Chef, Simon Palmer have created a five-course fiesta using one of the most expensive ingredients (per weight) known to man - Truffles. Known for its distinct flavour and food enhancing qualities, this lavish evening at Ecco Bistro is a shoe-in for one of our festival favourites. The evening's festivities start at $155 for the five courses and an extra $45 for paired wines.
High Tea with a Twist
In celebration of this year's Good Food Month, the Darling & Co restaurant will be breathing new life into the classic English pastime; High Tea.
Dropping the dandiness of British high society, the afternoon calls for a paired back pairing of sandwiches, finger food, and Tanqueray infused cocktails in a casual setting. The event Runs from the 9th till 23rd of July, leaving you ample time to kick back and enjoy this afternoon of leisure.
